Description

Tahoe City Golf Course enjoys the rare distinction of being designed by who many consider the first female actively engaged in the business of golf course designing. May “Queenie” Dunn Hupfel designed the course in 1917, then served as its pro and manager. In its heyday, the lovely course enjoyed big name players including Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Dean Martin, among others. In addition to their rich history, the nine holes of Tahoe City Golf Course are beautifully laid out and impeccably maintained. Originally built as a six-hole course with sand greens, Tahoe City Golf Course became nine holes 1926. Today, the course measures 2,570 yards.

The picturesque Tahoe City Golf Course, a par-33, winds across mountainous terrain and boasts towering pine trees that guard the lush fairways. The undulating greens are very fast and can prove challenging to the novice. Water hazards come into play on several holes, including the signature hole five, a par-4 stretching nearly 300 yards. The tricky hole demands shots over two separate water features, while simultaneously avoiding out-of-bounds areas on both sides of the fairway.

Guests to Tahoe City Golf Course will also find amenities including a driving range, pro shop, restaurant and bar.
