The Sunrise Vista Golf Course at Nellis Air Force Base features 36 holes of golf playable by current and former members of the military, their families and authorized guests. Divided into two championship courses, Sunrise Vista sees an estimated 75,000 rounds played annually. The Eagle/Falcon course at Sunrise Vista was designed by Ted Robinson, who incorporated creative water hazards and gently raised greens in the relatively flat course layout. The friendly design makes walking the course a pleasure. Stretching more than 7,000 yards, the Eagle/Falcon course offers an enjoyable round of golf and will present a true challenge to the casual golfer, particularly with its tricky hole seven, a 474-yard par four that plays to a narrow fairway.
The military golf facility also features a comprehensive practice area with a full-service driving range featuring eight target greens ranging from 75 to 250 yards. Guests will also find a short game area with a bunker/chipping area and three putting greens to fine-tune their scoring ability.
For players looking for assistance in brushing up on their skill set, instruction is available from golf professionals on an individual or group basis. Sunrise Vista also offers a complete pro shop and snack bar in its air-conditioned clubhouse.
