Idyllically situated on the Feather’s River middle fork high in the Sierra Nevada is the championship Graeagle Meadows Golf Course. The mature mountain course is just one hour from Reno-Tahoe, yet its secluded setting makes for an unparalleled golfing experience. Graeagle Meadows is characterized by its magnificent views and rich wilderness atmosphere, which the 6,725-yard course design complements. The par-72 course is guarded by towering pine trees and accented by serene lakes, lush fairways and smooth, mounded greens. Elevated tee boxes afford stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the heady aroma of rich forest, courtesy of the course’s sheltered setting, is intoxicating. Graeagle Meadows is truly stunning to see, but to golf it is something else altogether. Ranked in Golf Digest’s “Places to Play,” the clever and superbly conditioned course is a challenge to even the skilled golfer. One of Graeagle’s more devious par fours goes uphill the entire way to the green, while the deceptively beautiful water features call for accuracy and control.
As befitting a golf club of its level, Graeagle Meadows offers superb practice facilities. Guests can warm up on the impeccably maintained driving range and practice greens. Lessons are available from the professional staff and the facility also offers a well-stocked pro shop.
